NYPD detective sent to the Majestic hotel to arrest Solomon Steinberg. Following his escape from custody, Cavanagh and his partner, Hicks formed a search party and descended into the tunnels under the hotel as they assumed that Steinberg had used them to flee. The doughty detectives were never seen again.
